Inquiry for US grad applications

Being an international student, I had a particular query regarding the rules and regulations in the graduate admission process in the United states. I applied for a university and in the application form I forgetfully mention a false information. (Instead of F1 visa status I fill in Permanent Resident status). When the admissions committee contacts me for admitting me, I tell that I had mistakenly filled in wrong information. So they reject me. I apologize for my mistake. Does the admission committee take any further actions like contacting other universities or just the rejection?

When we find that kind of error (and it is usually obvious), we simply correct it. It has no influence on admission because we assume that the applicant was confused. We certainly would not report it to anyone because we don’t even know where the individual has applied. if the policy of the school you have applied to is to reject you if you have an erroneous designation, then it is unlikely they will do more than that.

Thanx a lot
