Inside America's Service Academies

For those of you who have Bright House, a 3 hour special on the Service Academies is coming on the Military Channel tonight; I’ve seen the whole thing about 3 times and it’s pretty good.

Also, 2011 PLEBES are ya’ll gonna bring anything on I-Day or just wing it with a toothbrush or whatever? I’m thinking of not bringing anything, but I don’t know yet. Also, PLEBES, what’s the gouge from any upperclassmen you’ve been talking to as the time draws nearer: i.e. I went to the Central Florida Plebe Parent Picnic and found out that this year will be the first year they reduce Chemistry to just one semester. Any other news?

Peace

Note the girl they focused on from the USAFA…she got booted 3 weeks before graduation for honor violation

the one from the first show? with the really short hair? i didn’t really like her anyways. still that sucks.

I’m bringing my running shoes, calculator, pills and my cellphone. That’s it. I don’t want to deal with anything else.
Haven’t heard anything from any upperclassmen. Met one of the cadre from GA, he seemed pretty nice, but didn’t say anything like that. That’s weird about the chem though.

list: shoes (i’ll be wearing), deodorant, underwear, ‘feminine hygiene’ stuff, cell phone & charger
went to a parents club picnic from NoVA-- mids said::

that this year the first 3 days of IDAY wont be that bad, b/c they’re incorporating an introductory phase of plebe summer;

don’t be afraid to approach a detailer for any personal issue you may be having;

go in with an open mind;

“if you know the mission on the first day, that’s just pathetic” -plebe summer cadre […i’m still not exactly sure how to handle that, and what i’m going to do b/c we were told to have some stuff memorized…but basically expect to get chewed out if you act like a know it all];

Plebe summer emphasizes TEAMWORK–so don’t make your squad or roommates look bad [esp dont show up at your bulkhead without the rest of your squad!!]. most everything we have to do this summer–and beyond–(including making our beds) require more than the individual.***Don’t bilge, work as a team–

sign up to validate anything AND everything, even if you don’t expect to—validation exam=air conditioned peace & quiet and a welcome break away from the detailers;

above all make sure to ENJOY what summer you have left. don’t spend it stressing over academy stuff, b/c there will be loads of time to do that once you’re there.

that’s the gist of what i got–

are specials like these somethings on youtube, dvd, or anything online? My tv and cable suck and I dont wanna miss this

you can order any of the DVD’s from the History channel where they were originally published and shown. I have seen them there.
