Wow–wonder how they can were able to figure out the robbery was staged? Fascinating!
I used to shop at that Wal Mart on occasion as it was near my workplace on Fort Meade.
HImom…I suspect like in super majority of murders the killer is connected to the victim (family member, ex lover, co worker, friend, etc etc) so maybe it is standard to look at the “victims” in robberies too. % maybe a lot lower than in murders but I bet it is fairly high …good question.
Probably they caught the suspects and one of them talked for possibly more lenient sentencing.
Sadly, many of the missing juveniles are also kidnapped by folks they knew and trusted–sometimes a custody dispute or loved one. Sad for the parent who has to ponder whether the missing child is safe and what will become of said person.
true most kidnappings are not like in the movies where a van pulls up at a playground and grabs a child. when I was little I was scared of every van and man walking by themselves. (it is good to be safe and stay away from strangers) but my teachers and the principle made us(at least me almost paranoid) the principle every week or so would announce on the intercom just before dismissal a suspicious van or car was seen driving near the school or had been near the school parking lot etc… and I was 11 scared to walk the 2 blocks home.
Yes, sometimes I think the safety messages and drills make our poor kids believe the world is a very dangerous places and that makes me sad.
When D was admitted as a transfer student to USoCal which definitely has a reputation for being near (and to some folks IN) a dangerous neighborhood, D wanted to go with us to Parent’s weekend touch was about 2 months before she would officially start on campus and lunch with her friends who were students at USC and ask them for their safety tips.
It’s important to stay safe without becoming paranoid, and sometimes not easy to figure out the best balance.
Re #5
Now, if a kid walks home from school without a parent, people think that the parent is endangering the kid. I.e. mandatory helicopter parenting. Even though crime us much lower now than a few decades ago.
of course most employee theft does not involve violence (real or staged) but they are a big source of theft.
