Instant Coffee @ Starbucks?

Has anyone tried this new offering at Starbucks? Apparently it is an effort on the part of Starbucks to have a more affordable option (and help their sagging bottom line). On the morning show today they did taste tests and almost everyone could tell the difference and preferred the brewed coffee.

Just thought I’d ask, since this is the “Parent Cafe” afterall.

I actually received a “sample” of this in the mail a few months ago when they were testing it. Brewed is superior, for sure but if I have to have a cup of instant coffee, I would prefer the Starbucks.

Can’t even remember the last time I had instant coffee – probably when D was first born and I was trying to “get my act together” as a new mom. Instant was, well – instant, and I needed a jolt ASAP. Can’t imagine going back to it now.

Been using it for about a year now for a quick cup on weekends if I don’t feel like going out to Starbucks. Pretty good and buy it cheaper bulk at Costco.

Can’t see making instant coffee. I never liked the taste of it. I do like the K-cups by Keurig and that is just as simple to make as instant coffee, one you have the coffee maker for it. My grandmother was a big Sanka coffee fan, but I never cared for it.

Yuk. I wouldn’t drink it at home and I wouldn’t pay for it somewhere else.

My grandmother too, nemom. Last cup of instant I had was about 15 years ago with my late grandmother. Well, I guess if anyone can put the sexy back into instant it’s Starbucks.

We don’t have a space for a coffee maker at work, so I though I’d give this a try (for those times when I need a heavy dose of caffeine when I work late). I went to the nearest Starbucks, bought a couple of packets… Let me just say that Folger’s doesn’t have to worry about Starbucks dominating the instant coffee market :)
