Instructor Evaluations Question

Hey there,

So I’ve been stressing during this transfer application process for a couple reasons. I’m applying to Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth, NYU, Michigan, and Vanderbilt as a junior transfer from UCSB. So far I’ve turned in all the school forms (albeit a bit late for some things) except for my instructor evaluations. I’ve only gotten an email from brown giving me an exact deadline to turn in my forms before my application gets pushed to the end of the reviewing process (april 16). Some of the schools said that the 30th was deadline for school forms/sat’s, while vanderbilt and dartmouth said it was the 15th of march. I talked to a few counselors who said that applications haven’t even been looked at really, and those deadlines on the checklist of each school website generally have a little wiggle room. I’ve been stacked with finals and spring break so I’ve had trouble getting in everything on time, and I’m worried it will greatly effect my chances of acceptance. So my first question has to do with how important are the deadlines for school forms really? From my understanding, and from what a Brown counselor told me, each school should send a final notice of due dates before the real application reviewing begins?

My second question has to do with the instructor evaluations. So far almost every single one of my classes has been 400-800 students…and that leaves very little opportunity for professor to student relationships. I’ve managed to get one instructor evaluation from a writing professor of mine who I built a pretty good relationship with, but I am finding it nearly impossible to get a second evaluation filled out. I just don’t know that many professors. Most of these schools say that two evaluations are required…but I can only get one so far…any input on this would be super helpful. Is two absolutely necessary? Or do they understand that it’s a bit hard to know a professor who teaches 800 other students, and doesn’t really have time for just one?

Thanks for the help! Most of these schools gave the 30th as deadline for forms and I’m obviously going to be late on the evaluations so I’ve been stressing.
