Insult to Injury

I got rejected from UCSD because my 3.45 GPA was below the out of state cutoff of 3.8, and then UCSD proceeds to send my mom this email:

Hello Prospective UC San Diego Parents and Family Members,

The Parent & Family Programs office proudly congratulates you on your student’s admission to UC San Diego.

UCSD has had this problem in the past: [YouTube - The UCSD Acceptance Fiasco](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKwf2g4Lslw) and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdTQlwXDjvw

you’d think they’d learn their lesson after that mess last year

Wow, I guess transfer admit day worked for some rejected people too.

Sorry about that :(

Did you register for admit day?

*** 3.8 cutoff gpa? Is this for TAG or what? That seems incredibly high, are u in an impacted major or something?

Wow! Again!? Many of my friends an I also received a ‘false’ acceptance letter last year also!

@DudeMan, the GPA is so high because as he said, he is an out of state student. It’s not as high for in-state applicants

Its not the same situation as last year. boom registered for transfer day prior to transfer admission notifications. the automated system sent his mom that email in response to the registration. so i guess the “able to register = accepted” theory is not valid?

^OUCH. I guess our most solid SD theory gets thrown out the window.

the 3.8 gpa cutoff is for out of state transfers only, but im a CA resident

and i was able to register for admit day a week before decisions were sent out. except last year when they made all those stupid mistakes, they sent another email within 2 hours back to the students saying that they actually didnt get accepted. not the case for me this time…man i really hate them right now.

that sucks man…sorry to hear :(
