<p>maximum, that would certainly be a valid topic and, while it’s fine to highlight your self-motivation and ability to learn independently, don’t forget that you’re applying for a place at a university that seeks students who will also engage fully with faculty. You won’t want to take the “without teachers” idea <em>too</em> far! ; )</p>
