Intellectual vit. essay-more about the idea or yourself?

In my intel. vit. essay I’m using up all the essay to talk about an idea, which leaves no room to really tell the admins about myself. The essay topic only asks for an idea(or intellectual experience). I can see that the intellectual experience topic can be expanded onto the applicant. But i cannot see anyway to do so with ideas. Is there any need for me to do this if the idea itself can speak for me?

There are many ways to do this. You can show what you are like by how you think. For example, I wrote this essay about a place I’ve visited and what came into my mind as I thought about that place, and through the essay, I showed that I am an active thinker and I respect my history. I rather like my essay, in fact. It’s a bit different than what they would have expected. You see? It’s really up to you.

It is about your thought process, your approach to ideas.

Ok, I see what you mean. Thanks!
