Intended Science Major with Liberal Artsy Resume?

I want to major in Geology in college because it’s STEM and so offers fair employment opportunities + I find the subject really neat, but I mostly had to explore it on my own. Many of my major activities and accomplishments are English/language related though – my major summer activity for the past few years involved writing a bilingual newspaper, I’m president of the Book Club, I got 800 Reading on the SAT (compared to 620 Math!), etc.

Also, I intend to ask my French and English teacher for letters of recommendation because they like me and know me well. I wanted to ask my Bio teacher, but I’m not 100% sure on his letter writing skills. Will it hurt me to have all these language-related things when I’m applying for a science major (although I do want to minor in French)? Would it look better if I applied Undecided instead?

If you really like Geology then you can talk about it in your essay and how in your spare time you came to like the subject.

Another way is to emphasize your interest in the humanities, apply to the College of Arts and Sciences for an English/Language major, then depending on the school, switch over to Geology or something like that.
