Hi, I am currently a freshman at UC Davis and just wanted some input on what I need to do in order to successfully transfer AS A JUNIOR. First here is some info that might help…

Major: Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering - Double major
Intended major: Mechanical Engineering (Aerospace is harder to get into right?)

GPA (i’ve only completed one quarter so far) - 3.40

Ethnicity: Asian (Japanese)

Desired schools in order of interest
*UCLA
*UCSD
*UCI
^I have good reason to leave. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, and was given a few more years to live. As a young adult, my mother wanted to go to UCLA until her father, a pilot for the Air Force and my hero, died serving in Vietnam. She has 4 son’s none of which have gone. She always taught me to put my education first and it is no coincidence that UCLA is a great school so that’s why this is so important to me. To not only make her proud, but to know that I am following in the footsteps of my beloved grandfather and study what I love.

EC’s
*Secretary for my fraternity (represent the fraternity at weekly Davis Greek Meetings)
*Treasurer of my dorms Leadership Counsel (weekly meetings, plan social events)
*UC Davis Track and Field Athlete
*Bus Driver for Unitrans (paid job 6hrs/week)
*UC Davis BAND-UH! (Pep band for sports games, only did fall quarter)
*NEXT YEAR: I hope to join the Aerobrick team, in which students manufacture, assemble and race their own formula 1 racing car.

Other than grades, is there anything else EC wise that I should do while I am here?

Also, I have mapped out my schedule so that I will finish UCD’s GE Requirement by the end of my sophomore year.

By the end of my first two years I should have about 130 quarter units.

ANY help is greatly appreciated.

THANKS!
