Interdisciplinary Studies

My brother is looking to go to a state university and enroll in their Interdisciplinary program, focusing on biology and physics. He would definitely go on to graduate school. How do graduate schools, or even prospective employers, generally view interdisciplinary programs or liberal arts degrees? Would he be viewed worse if he had, say, a Bachelor of Liberal Arts with extensive coursework compared to a B.S. degree?

(I would tell him to ask CC himself but he doesn’t have access to a computer right now.)
