Interesing article regarding gangs and frats

But, hopefully, a nun doesn’t have to jump somebody and beat them up to prove her loyalty to the church!

I used to love all those nun movies when I was a kid - remember that Haley Mills movie where they went on a bus and ended up having some kind of dance with cute guys from the boy’s school? There was kind of a thuggish nun running that show. I would have been scared if I was Haley Mills too, but she was kind of naughty.

Not past noon here. It’s still coffee for me.

“Opie, you better watch your back - me thinks beer cans are headed your way.”

Quite possible…

Early in the day, a red beer of course!

(just a mary w/beer instead of votka)

Get my veggies and booze at the same time. One cancels the other out, no?

Actually coffee after noon, means I won’t close my eyes until 3 am…

“But, hopefully, a nun doesn’t have to jump somebody and beat them up to prove her loyalty to the church!”
oh - maybe I should be comparing nuns and frats then.
I know they both do community service projects.
But I don’t think nuns drink beer…or throw beer cans for that matter.

I admit low familiarity with gangs and they just aren’t around here in rural Vermont. I don’t think gangs have many positive purposes. Perhaps they might, but I am not aware of them.

I don’t see the correlation of gangs with frats and I am really against generalizing about any group of people. As with any group, there are those doing good things and some who are not. There are lots of good that many frats and frat members do. Just because you know of certain folks who display negative behaviors, doesn’t mean it applies to all in that grouping.

I wasn’t in the Greek system in college and nor are my kids (and Greek life is minor at their colleges), but I am not against them at all. Actually, believe it or not, back when I was in HIGH school, we had frats and sororities and I was in a sorority, particularly during my lower high school years. We even had to pledge.

Do you recall The Flying Nun? I’m dating myself.

 Yeah, that’s the comparison I like better frat boys and nuns - that’s a scary (or pretty funny) visual.

I loved the Flying Nun!! I dressed like her one halloween, funny hat and all.
