Interest income and Fafsa

Question…
On “parents” financial section, there is a box specifically for “interest income”.
On “students” financial section, there is not. Student has under 2.00 of interest income, do I need to report it, and where do I do that?
Thanks!

Oops…I was misreading it. There is no specific place for parents interest income. But question remains…where do I put student interest income?

Isn’t interest income part of your adjusted gross income?

The student does not file a tax return, so maybe I don’t add interest income at all?

You have to report all income, so the interest income goes in the income total. For a nonfiler, there is no AGI or taxes paid. If there is any income from work, that goes in the income from work total. Interest would go in untaxed income.
