I am currently a high school Junior who is extremely interested in NYU’s German Language program. Currently my GPA is lower than what is usually accepted for NYU (3.06) , however that is due to science and math classes.

I was wondering if when looking at resumes if NYU takes into account the major that I would like to pursue and any achievements that are related to it? Basically, would they not accept me just because I got poor grades in science even though I want to study German?

“Achievements” related to German:
-German Honors Society member since the beginning of last year
-Member of German club for two years
-Tutoring German to other students
-Taught myself a level of German completely on my own over the summer (As a Junior I should be in German III, but I did German III on my own in the summer so I could take German IV this year)
-I will be taking AP German exams next year
-I have never gotten less than an A on my final grades in German class
-I also know Polish but that is more related to languages in general

Is it possible they will accept me? I want to go to NYU more than anything… and the German language is my passion.
