Interesting observation about how UC Students turn out after graduation

Four years of nonstop immersion in a new, often alien environment usually has a major effect on a person’s worldviews. I’ve definitely noticed each UC bends the majority of its students toward one particular archtype. Entering freshmen come from every background, but graduating students, having toiled, suffered, fraternized and triumphed together converge in more ways than they usually admit.

Berkeley

The average Berkeley graduate is polite, genteel, sympathetic and courteous. He is a deep thinker, works hard, has high endurance and is realistic about his life goals. Usually introverted, he may have a flashback or two consisting of daydreaming, but he now understands what he wants and knows how to get it.

Davis

Cool-headed and prosaic, the Davis graduate is even more down-to-earth than his Berkeley classmate. He will only embark on a goal if it is sure to succeed, taking no chances and entertaining no hanky-panky.

Irvine

Outwardly friendly and joyous, the Anteater is practical and sensible about life. He may have high expectations initially, but he eventually falls prey to the daily grind after he has walked away from Aldritch Park for the last time.

Los Angeles

Intelligent, outgoing, and slightly extroverted, he has high hopes of becoming the next Warren Buffett or Donald Trump. Not accepting mediocrity, he is in the game of life to win it big and is willing to risk it all to become a superstar.

Riverside

Often less than satisfied, he sees life as a little unfair. Likely to complain, he nevertheless is accepting of work and helping others when the need arrives.

Santa Barbara

Warm, friendly, and artsy, the Gaucho is mature and sympathetic. More empathetic than any other graduate, he is best at understanding what other people are going through. His goal is to live a balanced existence and enjoy the best that life has to offer.

Santa Cruz

Affectionate, happy-go-lucky and spirited, he takes a holistic view of life. He is satisfied with enjoying everything around him, whether good or bad. Caring about others, he is willing to help out even at his own expense.

San Diego

A deep thinker by nature, he is down-to-earth and knows how to fix any technical problem. Sometimes he is filled with idealism and anticipation, but at the end of the day, he does what is needed to carve out a sustainable life.

this is a cool post! kinda like a personality test for which UC you best fit into. my personal favorites are the UCLA and UCSB profiles.

Au contraire: UC Southern Branch would have all of the day-dreamers, as in dreaming why they they didn’t get into Cal. :D

UCLAers often dream bigger but get less. Avg mid-career salary according to payscale.
Cal - $104,000
UCLA- $91,000
