The outlook for me passing Math 35 this semester doesn’t look too good right now. The class moves so very, very fast for me. I haven’t missed a single class, I do all the tutoring, math lab, see my instructor, do my homework every day and so forth. I spent all of spring break doing algebra. I spend every afternoon and evening and weekend doing algebra. I am applying myself! I catch on but not fast enough. Does anyone know if there is a community college in Riverside County that offers math 35 at a slightly slower pace? I know I could pass this class if I could just slow down a little bit. We don’t stay in one place long enough for me to absorb, is what I am thinking the problem may be. I am not stupid, I just need to go a little bit slower.

Can anyone suggest a community college that offers Math 35 at less than the speed of lightening, like it is at Riverside City College? Maybe I need to go to another school for a semester to get through this.

Ummm, no one would really know on CC. Your question is way too specific.

You really have to do the contacting, call up every community college in Riverside County.

Based on the syllabus online, Math 35 Intermediate Algebra sounds like a souped up middle school algebra 2 class. If tutoring and office hour doesn’t work, I really don’t know what you could do. Perhaps try seeking help on line?

Slap, slap. “souped up middle school algebra 2 class”. Friendly and helpful group. Thanks senior member.
When I was in high school, math wasn’t even a required course. The work kids do in middle school today is pretty impressive to me. I get good grades in all my other classes. Only having trouble with the numbers. Couldn’t hurt to ask, I figured. It did hurt (a little) though. I will contact the schools and thanks for the on-line suggestion.

You can try going to [Khan Academy](http://www.khanacademy.org/index.html) and browsing through his Algebra videos. He doesn’t cover everything, but with the level you’re at he probably will cover most of it.

Salman Khan makes those videos for people like you. Hopefully he’ll teach it in a way that you can understand. You can always rewind or watch the videos over again if you need to refresh on a concept.

Good luck. I hope it all works out for you.

I took math 35 two times already and dropped it before I got a crap grade I have a 2.7 g.p.a and only Math 35 and P.E left to complete to get my AA…

Maybe the problem is that the foundation in Alg I isn’t strong enough. The Khan Academy is a good suggestion. Start back with Alg I. I don’t think that another CCC class is going to be any different. They all have a basic range of material to cover in the allotted time. So maybe you need to do remedial work, then preparation work for Alg II beforehand.
