Intermediate Musicians

What opportunities exist for intermediate musicians at Yale?

there are bazillions of music groups on campus, so even though there are a lot of good musicians, they can’t possibly play in all of the groups. I don’t know from personal experience (I’m an EA deferree), but I would guess from conversations I’ve had with a trombone player friend of mine who’s a current freshmen that if you want to be involved in music there are opportunities for you. I think he’s in about 6 groups at the moment.

awesome, thanks- hah, I happen to play trombone too!

are you interested in marching band? I’ve heard the YPMB (yale precision marching band, a bit of a misnomer) is a blast. They come up with random shows for each football game that usually has some relevance to what’s going on on campus or in the world. I heard about one show where they spelled out FEMA incorrectly and then had to run around to get in the right places. plus they get into the harvard-yale game for free. Not a bad deal at all

The Harvard-Yale game is always free if you’re a (Yale) student. I think otherwise it’s around ten dollars or so.
