<p>I’m applying to the US, and I’m wondering if this box shows up on EVERYONE’S Stanford supplement, or if for some reason my app is glitching and marking me as an international (my birthplace is outside of the US but I hold US citizenship). </p>

As an international applicant (who is neither a U.S. Citizen nor a U.S. Permanent Resident), I understand that I am ineligible for U.S. federal financial aid and have read and understood the following information:</p>
<p>If you indicated on the Common Application that you will apply for financial aid, you will be considered as an applicant requesting financial aid from Stanford who is ineligible for federal financial aid. Financial aid from Stanford for such applicants is highly competitive as funding is limited; therefore, requests for financial support will be taken into consideration during the admission process of international students.</p>
<p>If you indicated on the Common Application that you will not be applying for financial aid and you are admitted, it is important that you understand that financial aid will not be available to you during any of your undergraduate years at Stanford; similarly, you will not be able to apply for financial aid after you are admitted unless your official citizenship or permanent residency status changes. It is also important to note that in order to register as students, Stanford requires that all who are not U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents must obtain and maintain an appropriate visa status for their stay in the United States.

<p>If I’m a US citizen, do I just leave the check box blank?</p>
