hey Go Beyond, how did you get that 60 out 0f 110 internationals with CR lower that 600 info?

Anurag : Wats your toefl score? From india (as my interviewer told) they take students only for two reasons:

1.) get a percentile of 99 on SAT
2.) show that you are an EXTREME genius

one or both from above and if you are from india, then you are in.

As you dont have that much SAT, stop worrying about it, show them in some way that you are a genius, like international olympiad thing or something like that.

They know that a good level of english is taught in CBSE and ISC boards, so that "low CR bcoz iam an international " thing wont work with us. :(

youknowme…ull need 99 also on CR and writing, if you are from india and want to prove your genius via SAT, if you dont have that, try some other way to demonstrate that you are a genius!

hmm… well im applying from bangladesh, and i have 99 percentile in my SAT sections if u combine my 2 sittings, is that alright? also, would what u stated be true for bangladesh, i mean its right next to india right? i also have a unique story, so that shud help. i really want to go to MIT too.

Even if this were true- there are over 1,000,000 potential MIT applicants worldwide that have this statistic. There is much more to admissions than this one number.

I was referring to the number of kids worldwide who would be in the top 1% if ALL were able to take the tests. My estimate came from 1.8% of six billion being eligible for college freshman status and 1% of these are obviously in the top 1%. My point was that plenty of people have the ability to score at the top end of standardized tests. There is nowhere near enough room at top schools for all the top 1%. The top applicants show much more than the ability to score well on tests.
