How would it be possible to structure an international business major in FSU, if they don’t specifically grant this major?

I’ve been juggling with different career paths, and recently found IB. I’m more interested in the PR/Corporate Comm aspects of business rather than the management or marketing aspects.

Also, is IB more of a career path than an actual major? Suggetions and comments please :)

Investment banking is a career, the major you would want is Finance. Just being honest, FSU isn’t what you would call a “target school” for investment banks to recruit from. There are only a very small number of schools that investment banks primarily recruit from. Of course, they may also recruit from FSU, but the chances of an offer for a student there would be a lot lower than a student at a target school like NYU Stern.

what about international business…
I read on John Hopkin’s career center website that a degree in international affairs could lead into international business (of course, a MBA might be needed down the path)…

International Business is one of the few Business majors that I would strongly recommend NOT to take because of the lack of specificity and the large amount of theory involved. International Business doesn’t help much when you’re at your workplace, and it’s just overall a very vague major. It’s similar to the Business Administration major where a lot of it’s just theory which means it’s out of the scope of work.
