International Degree

Hello you all! I am new to this forum, so I just wanted to say Hi, and talk about what brought me to this site.

My name is Carolina Artero, I was born and raised abroad (Bolivia) and I almost got a degree in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering. It all began on 2008, then I came to the U.S. as an exchange student on 2009 and went back home on 2010. After that I had 2 years left of school, that I finished all my classes by 2012 with really great GPA and all. The thing is that in my country in order to get the undergrad degree you have to write a thesis, that’s where the almost part takes place. I got married on August 2013 and moved to the U.S.; ever since then I’ve been trying to get an engineering job, and to finish my thesis, and I had no luck with either. So now I was thinking on applying to transfer my credits to CU Boulder because apparently my Bolivian degree means nothing here in the U.S. The thing is that I still need a kinda engineering job, because I need to pay college again, and I need to start building a career/resume. That brings me to my second problem, since I’ve never lived here before, I don’t have references or prior experience whatsoever.

That’s how I ended up here! So if you have any kind of advice… will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Carolina
