I’m looking to transfer from India. I"ll be completing 94 credits after the current semester(4th sem) in electrical engg. Cgpa comes out to be 2.91(7.29/10). Would i be able to transfer as i’m unaware of engineering transfer competition and trends. And also what colleges should i be looking into?
I can only speak to California engineering schools, and 2.91 is pretty low for a transfer GPA to any of the top ones. The top engineering schools in California and their competitive GPA’s are: Stanford (which only takes 20 transfers), UC Berkeley (need a 3.9), Cal Tech (only takes 5-10 transfers), UCLA (need 3.75), UCSD (need 3.7), Cal Poly SLO (need 3.6-3.7) , UCSB (need 3.5-3.6), and Davis (3.4-3.5).
You can also look at schools in the next tier down such as San Jose State, San Francisco State, and San Diego State. You might be more competitive there.
If you don’t care where you go, and if you can pay the full cost, there certainly are places that will admit you.
