In 8th grade I moved to Israel. I continued my education in an online high school for 9th and 10th grade. At the end of my sophomore year, the school I was attending closed. I am currently unable to find a different school to complete my final two years of high school, and have been informed by Israel that I am being drafted into the army during the summer of 2011.
It has always been my dream to go to a great university and then to medical school. However, it now looks like I will have to drop out of high school, get my GED, and become a paramedic for the Israeli Defense Forces.
If, 4 years from now when my army service is over, I apply to Ivy-League schools, will I have a chance of getting in?

GPA: 3.988
Kaplan Distinguished Scholar (all four semesters of my high school attendance)
Age: now 17, 21 or 22 at time of application
SAT scores: unknown as of yet, a safe estimate would be 2000. (Also SAT subject tests in Biology M, Spanish or Hebrew, and History)
Trilingual (English, Hebrew, Spanish)
Paramedic in the army for 3 years
Volunteer EMT since the age of 16 (About 1.5 years prior to IDF conscription) with additional specialties in instruction, multiple-casualty incidents, and Intensive Care Ambulances.
Illustrated and published a book
International (I am an Israeli citizen)
I expect to score very highly on the GED, despite English being my second language and only two completed years of high school.

Any information you guys could provide me with would be appreciated. Chances of being accepted to a well-respected, well-known university with a GED, military history, as an international student, as someone over the age of 20… any information on any of this would be amazing.

Thank you.
