In another thread, the topic about international high school in other (usually developped) countries was raised. The parents of students in such high schools could be Americans or Canadians who may live in that country for parents’ business reasons. Some may be a boarding school but most seem to be just day school. AP and/or IB courses are often offered.
The graduates from such a international high school in countries other than US will normally come back to US for their college education for various reasons, e.g., the US colleges are “better” or more prestigious, or no college in that country for which the lecture is in English, Some of the high school students from
such high schools could be quite competitive students when they apply to Colleges in US, oftentimes getting into elite colleges here in US.
Do any of you know anything about such schools at the high (sometimes middle and elementary) school level from parents’ point of view?
DS knows at least several such students at either UG or grad school level. But I do not know much about it and I am curious about such schools.
Thanks to thumper1 for suggesting to create a thread for this.
