<p>What about international calls back to US? Is there something he could get in the US or Taipei that is affordable? He is paying for everything.</p>
<p>Or should the communication to the US just be by Skype? That worked when he was in Asia last summer.</p>

<p>There are many VOIP service providers that has dirt cheap rates to US and even offer skype.</p>
<p>For example, we use one of those service that serves most europe, India, China and Japan (both ways).</p>
<p>We use Skype a lot. Sometimes, we use PinCity phone card for calls from US to other countries.<br>
From Taipei, the government owned phone company has plenty promotion for international calls, especially at Saturday night and Sunday morning, very very cheap, like 1 cent per minutes.</p>
