International Relations and Location

Hi, I’m a senior and am fairly positive that I will be applying to Bucknell early decision because I absolutely love the school. I’m planning on studying International Relations and I’m nervous about how many opportunities I’ll be presented due to Bucknell’s location (ie: it’s in the middle of nowhere.) I looked at schools in DC that boast a huge number of internship opportunities and professors with real-world experience due to their location in the nation’s capital, so I’m just wondering what Bucknell has to offer. Essentially, how “good” is the International Relations major at Bucknell?

Lewisburg is a small town but very quaint town.

But my D did a semester abroad in Geneva Switzerland that was an excellant program for International Relations. It was a Bucknell approved program through SIT.

There was one other Bucknell student when she attended last fall. The other students where from schools like Harvard (2), Duke, Brown, Georgetown, U of Penn, Emory, etc. My D had a fantastic experience and interacted w/ students from a variety of top schools and was able to gain valuable experience and education.

I only mention this because my D is not an International Relations major. She choose this particular abroad program because it was also good for her major-- environmental studies. But most of the students she studied with were International Relations
