it’s just an arbitrary example, i know you can’t actually get 53.5 xD

@aphrodite

how was the global warming question “overblown”? it was reliable if anything. the majority of people got this one wrong for some reason

The answer ‘contrast’ is for which of the question in the chinese girl passage? i dont feel I haven chosen such answer

Can anybody remember the answer to the last question regarding the passage about bats?

Also, @aphrodite, the frankie manning one was ‘spanning different eras’ as they mentioned the 20s, the 50s, and the 70s, if I recall correctly. But I dont remember anything baout ‘stodgy…quirky’ or ‘paranoia’, which ones were those?

@miasanmia the question was how would the author of the 2nd passage charactize a certain part of the first, the answer is ‘overblown’

I’m pretty sure it isn’t “incensed”.

The scientist shook his shoulders saying “How can you say something like this?”

Sounds uncomprehending to me, not incensed.

@bnkmnkrs
i know. it was how would the author of the 2nd characterize the first paragraph of the first passage. the first passage basically saids the same things as the second…

Does anyone remember the phrasing of choice A which was like:

“Support the previous claim that male bats send out signals that are perceived by female bats”

No User22 53.5 would be rounded up to 54.

So if you got 3 wrong, 1 omitted, you would have been better off guessing the omitted one instead, because getting it wrong does nothing, but geting it right and instead of 49, you would have had 50.

@Miasanmia, definitely overblown, don’t know how you’ve got the idea that they were saying the same thing. The first one said that global warming was the biggest issue in the world, the second one said that statements like that were based on nothing.

He was “incensed” he was annoyed or angered by the answer. He understood what the person said.

i chose incensed also by the way what is the chinese artist reaction to the compliment?

I didn’t choose ‘incensed’ although it was a close call, ‘uncomprehending’ seemed a better fit. He shook the guy, but that doesn’t indicate extreme anger, and as noted above, the scientist asked ‘how could you say something like this?’

do any of you guys remember a writing question(finding error) along these lines:
“That she should choose to write about independent women was not surprising, as she is …feminist…”

I don’t remember exactly how it was but I rmb picking ‘should’ thinking that ‘would’ is better?

@maxyend

i think you overinterpreted the first paragraph. both paragraphs regard it as an important issue, and the first paragraph of the first passage said that everyone needs to contribute to help it. it was later on in the first passage that it started to drift away from the purpose of the second passage.

@Coldflame, incensed is such an extreme that it is unlikely to be right anyway, SAt answers tend to stay away from extremes.

@talatahehe, I went for disbelief and suspicion. It seems to be a 50/50 on here between that one and surprised and delighted. (or something)

In the passage, there was a phrase ‘indignantly (something.)’ This supports the idea that the scientist was incensed.

@ corrinder94

THAT IS THE ISABEL ALLENDE QUESTION! ABOUT CONVENTIONAL ROLE OF WOMEN?

oh rlly? so was the answer NE?

@miasanmia, passage 2 considered it an issue, but not a massive issue like the first one. the answer is definitely overblown.
