International SAT October 2012: Y U NO discuss?

I don’t think I had a no error for a 29, but I had one of 25/26 (I think it was 26), don’t know what questions they were though, any more info?

Does anyone remember the exact sentence about the Civil War question?

agree. though I put “would be” for #29… i think i’m wrong though :S

For the ballroom dancer question (the short passage), I was confused between “spanning many eras” and the “variety of dance style” option. I think I went with the latter though. Now, I am not so sure. :|

@slove1378

Can you give the sentence for #29?

which section was the experimental one guys?

@Miasanmia, depends per person. I think I had a writing experimental, because I had two 35 question writing sections.

maxynend, i also had 2 35 question sections. although i really hope that one of my reading would experimental… vocab screwed me in a way ive never been screwed before

here is the experimental section:
reading: contains a long passage about art critic
writing: contains improving paragraphs about pyramid

art critic passage? the one with the museum??

i dont know. I heard it from others

How harsh do you think the curve will be? Will 3 wrong and 1 omit still be 700+ math? :/

Yeah, I had the pyramid question.

How harsh do you think the curve will be? I 've been tortured by it!!!

@user22, 49 raw score almost always gives at least 700 http://www.erikthered.com/tutor/SAT-Released-Test-Curves.pdf.

That being said, I found the maths section surprisingly easy. There were just a few last questions that were slightly tough or unusual (7^1600).

I hope it’s lenient :open_mouth: I’ll be thrilled if i manage to get 700+ in math, i’m losing at 80 points because of stupid mistakes!

@user dw
4 off the score is still defo 700+

What’s the difference between a 49.25 and a 49 score? XD

nothing, it gets rounded up from .5, down below that.

so if you get, say, 53.5, it’s taken as 53, and not 54?
