Guys, the vocab question about the judge and the boy’s sentence, was the answer "Mercy… accomplish?

I don’t remember that passage, what kind of scientist was he?

is the color of feathers

people from 2010 thread agreed it was “tinge”… I chose bent.

Yes, that’s right. (mercy…accomplish)

I chose Mercy… accomplish. It should be right.

Sorry miasanmia, but ‘exemplary skill’ was the correct choice. The fact that he was assured and deft in his painting indicates that he was very good at doing it (painting), hence: exemplary skill.

I chose “tinge” but it was a bit of a guess, so I could well be wrong.

the scientists passage is about Barbara McClintock, who suggests that scientists, when doing experiment should follow certain procedures…its a short passage…in the beginning of my first cr section if i recall clearly…

Wow, I had completely forgotten that part.

I said they “should suspend expectations about the results” or something, so yeah, your answer.

I think “tinge” is the correct answer. My problem was that I didn’t know such a word.

i maybe choose some answer near “scientists should follow scientific methods and doing through experiment to attest the speculation” can’t recall exactly

I thought it could be that one as well, but thinking about it it was the exact opposite to what she said (don’t expect before the experiment/listen to the results). Whereas the answer said use scientific methods to prove the answer you are looking to find.

@AimingAt750 thx for reply…but r u really sure it was about the color of the feather?

@bnjmnkrs

“deft assurance” deft modifies assurance. deft does not describe the painter here, but assurance. mind that.

moving on, did anyone remember a question with answer choices “anomalies” “omissions” questions"? the passage was about scientists making mistakes. I chose anomalies.

Yes, I remember choosing something similar to “should suspend expectations about the results”

I chose “anomalies” too

as I said “exemplary” comes from the fact that French painter’s example made her try a new technique

I am definitely sure about the color of the feathers because the author was talking about colors (color red in particular)

@aimingat750

i would have to politely disagree wiih you on your theory. you are assuming a lot here. the passage is too vague to do that. ive read it over and over and i dont see your point in there (that she tried out a new technique because of the french painter).

the french painter mattered only in that little passage. he was irrelevant later on.

maybe you guys were right…prettty sure get 3 wrong now…can it still be higher than 750?

do you rmb the exact question about anomalies? i think i chose it too but im not sure what the question was about.
btw some pple say 7wrong=700 but isnt that for 2010? would it apply for this test?

@cracking sat
for the texture answer choice,
Perhaps male bats have body surfaces that are Subtly textured so that the echoes that bounce off them are perceived by females as gorgeously coloured, the sound equivalent of the nuptial Plumage of a bird of paradise.

Do you rmb what the q was ?

i got 4 vocab qs wrong. but with one reading experimental, likely trimmed down to 2 vocab wrong. then i got a few more; at least 5-6 wrong. what score would that be?

@miasanmia I’m trying to see it at your point of view, but I can’t… Would you care to explain how “deft” can describe “assurance”. Also, “assurance” means confidence, which has nothing to do with painstaking. Deft is also a near opposite of painstaking, as it means quick and swift instead of careful and meticulous.
