International Schools for Liberal Arts?

The results of the election have me seriously considering international schools. However, I really want to do the whole liberal arts/interdisciplinary thing, which is perhaps more specific to American universities. I could never see myself at a school where you literally pick one subject and study just that for 3 years, and I know a lot of schools abroad are like that. What are some international schools (preferably in Canada or the UK) where I could still have an academic experience similar to an American LAC? I’ve heard St. Andrews is one; any others?

Look into Mount Allison and Acadia, both in Canada.

Even St Andrew’s won’t offer you quite what a US university does in terms of breadth across different areas of study. Two or three subjects combinations are possible, but I can’t think of anywhere in the UK which offers more than that, and the specific combinations are limited in scope.

Maybe somewhere in Canada would work for you.

Lol…let’s Make America Great Again am I right? For real though there is probably a few UK universities with plenty of US students.

Your country may need you @lalalemma.

Mount Allison is a fantastic Canadian LAC. One of the brightest and most intellectually capable people I know is an alum, and he raves about his time there.

Utrech University in Holland has interdisciplinary majors. In English.

Thanks so much for all the responses! I had no idea there was such thing as a Canadian LAC but I’m glad to know there is.
