I am studying IB courses in China, and I have the intention to apply for Gallatin. (ED2) I get TOEFL, SAT1, SAT2 (chemistry and math2) scores, and my IB predicted scores. I want to know whether Gallatin has strict requirements for standard scores, because I am not confident about my current scores. Gallatin is always a dream school…
Since very few Chinese students know about Gallatin, I want to ask about what is the real school life in Gallatin to help me make a decision. I am not sure about whether Gallatin is my best fit, but I have done researches on the official website and found many interesting programs and interdisciplinary seminars that I want to attend. I have interests in international business, culture study, environmental sustainability and film production, but I do not have an specific intended major. I love traveling and cooking, and I think travel course in Gallatin is really fun! All these information all included in my activity lists and ps.
Frankly, I only have a rough plan about what I am going to do in the future, but I know what kind of experiences I want to have in the campus.

International Student apply for NYU Gallatin. Questions about school life, admission requirements...

Without knowing your stats and only looking at your interests, I’d say Gallatin is a great fit for you. Take the time to browse the forum (try search Gallatin in the engine?), and I’m sure you’ll be able to find various chance posts and such, so that you’ll have a clearer perspective of where you stand. Good luck!

I’m a current student at Gallatin and it sounds like Gallatin might be an awesome fit. Not all kids come into Gallatin with an exact concentration in mind; most come in with general areas of intrigue and interest like you. The “real school life” in Gallatin is super small and discussion based. The courses are often unique and specific, and most likely challenging, but often require less “studying” than exam-based classes. Gallatin is interested in you looking at your concentration through multiple disciplines and perspectives so that you leave with a full, deep, well-rounded understanding of your studies. The kids you’ll meet in class are unique, intelligent, and curious. As we like to say, Gallatin is for “individualized people only.”
