Hello, I am from South Korea and I had attended school in Korea(9th grade) England(10th grade) and United States(11 and now currently attending as senior.) My concern is that while I was in England I did great on school works and did great on school tests however, on IGCSE Certification Test day I had very bad health condition but eventually I took test and got score as almost failed level. So my point is there any chance we can not exclude IGCSE test score while applying American university? (IGCSE is anyway national exam not school test…)Because if I do not exclude IGCSE my GPA gain more opportunity to get into American universities however, if I include IGCSE it shows so much big difference…(By the way I am thinking about American university between ranking 80-150)
by the way I already have TOEFL 83 and my 11th grade GPA is 3.27 and my 12th Grade GPA is according to my first progress report it is 3.98. Also my cummulative GPA is 3.1(until 11th grade) if I do not exclude IGCSE Certification test grade. So putting IGCSE score is not necessary I believe but still am I right?
Specifically what schools are you looking at? Schools like Purdue only want the IGSCE grades for admission so that would be a reach. I believe the GCSE or IGCSE grades are important in US uni admission, More often they require you to send them as they actually show your final result. However, you could tell them you were not feeling well in your SOP. As far I know, IGSCEs are important.
Most US schools will want IGCSE’s, but since you continued in the US system, they may accept a consolidated transcript that recaps your Korean, British, and American grades on one transcript, without the GCSE. Check with your guidance office to see what they’ll send in terms of transcripts.
Thanks for all the reply
