International student bringing a small TV and a Wii?

<p>I don’t think I’ll be able the TV back to my house but there might be a place I can store it while I’m gone.</p>

<p>I’m very worried about them getting stolen though. I’d like to bring them to watch House and play games, but…</p>

<p>Suggestions?</p>

<p>I’ve never heard of any problems with TV’s or Wii’s being stolen. But if you’re worried, just lock your door whenever you leave the room and your roommate’s not there. That seems to cut down on a lot of theft, from what I’ve seen at my school.</p>

<p>I’m sure they’ll lock the door too, or at least try to. They’ll have important, expensive stuff in the dorm too.</p>

<p>You’ll need a voltage converter to be able to use things, assuming you’re from Europe or somewhere that isn’t North America Video games are also region locked, so keep in mind you won’t be able to buy games in America and have them work.<br>
Just some things to keep in mind when bringing international electronic products. Some colleges may not allow for the voltage converters - although that’s more of a guess and I don’t really see why not.</p>

<p>They probably would allow them, given your situation. But I would be prepared for them not to.</p>

<p>I think you should call your school’s residential life office and ask them if they’d let you use converters.
The only reason I can think of that they wouldn’t allow them is because they might cause a fire hazard. But I don’t know much about electricity in that sense, so don’t take my word for it.</p>
