Hey all! I applied to University of Washington in Seattle for the Fall 2024 intake. I’d like to gauge on my chances!
Male Asian International student from the Southeast Asia region. Graduated from a Gifted High School Programme with a 3.80 UW CGPA, graduating class consisting around 60 students. Applied for the Biology (General) Major. Did not apply for financial aid.
I submitted my 1300 SAT for the English Language Testing Waiver. School doesn’t do class rank but safe to assume I’m among the Top 10s of my class. Took two of the only offered AP classes at my school (AP Psycho and AP Stats). Also took some advanced maths classes (Linear Algebra and Calculus). Did foreign language (Korean) for all five years of high school.

As for the UW personal statement, I wrote about my challenges of being a queer student at a traditionally conservative school. Mainly focused on the frictions between the school’s administrators and my identity. Also touched on how it affected my education and how I persevered. Emphasized on how it motivated me to initiate open discussions and conversations about diversity through Model UN and clubs.
That’s all! Looking forward to all of yall’s insights!! Thank you
