What are the best universities in New York in terms of diversity and scholarships programs for international students
New York City or New York state?
New York City does not need to incentivize any youth to move there so scholarships are rare. Columbia and Barnard both offer excellent need based aid but getting in is very very hard.
SUNYs are a good value but they rarely offer merit scholarship - they may have some (like Plattsburgh) that cover part of tuiion- and no financial aid.
@MYOS1634 yes nyc, thank you so much! About Barnard, do you know if it’s true that it’s actually part of Columbia university so a degree from there is from Columbia uni? The whole thing confuses me.
Also, do you anything about Marymount manhattan college?
Thanks a lot!! :))
Yes, Barnard is one of the four undergraduate colleges of Columbia University – see https://www.columbia.edu/content/academics/schools
Isn’t it convenient how Columbia University lists all of its schools on one page?
Marymount Manhattan is a small co-educational private college located on the upper east side of Manhattan. They do offer merit-based scholarships to international students, listed at https://www.mmm.edu/admissions/international-student-scholarships/ About half of their students are visual & performing arts majors; the other most common majors are communications/journalism and business/marketing
They have about a 78% admission rate.
