international student

Is it true that if I can pay tuition on my own, I’ll have a higher chance of getting in as an international student? (Then again I’m Southeast Asian, so that could actually hurt?)

Private school, extra-tough curriculum (math esp.! I could write an essay about how f-ed up our math curriculum is)
Grades are so-so…but going up. Compared to public schools my grades would be amazing.
I have another school year, so I can’t really say yet.
ECs are excellent by my country’s standards…poor compared to American standards (you guys have lots of ECs!).
SATs in Jan
SAT IIs:
Chinese - 710/800
Math II - 600/800 (def. retaking, this was a try-out just to see how the test is like; we haven’t learned a lot of the things tested yet)

Probably retaking Chinese next year if the scores can be rushed by ED deadline.

Erm, Stern ED next year.

Asking, heard it from a friend (who was very excited upon hearing this - she wants to go to Tisch for film).
