International students GPA

I understand that scores are ;by no means the decisive factor in applying, but I’m only asking this question regarding GPA.
I’m a foreign exchange student from HK and am currently a junior, but I have equally competitive ACT scores, ec’s and credentials (especially strong forensics).
However, because I was still adapting to the American education system in the first semester, my GPA is nowhere near what most Columbia applicants have (I currently have a 3.9). I was wondering, would Columbia consider international applicants differently? How much would this affect my chances?
(Again, I know the importance of being a well-rounded individual lol)

Also, I’m currently studying in Texas. If that’s relevant.
