International with 1950SAT

Hello, my SAT results are 1950 Superscored (550CR , 770M, 620WR).
I love technology , so my college preferences are towards CS/MIS/CIS majors.
Made some thorough research and found some good unis that suit me like:
U Wisconsin-Madison , U Minnesota twin cities ,U Michigan ,U Texas at Austin ,U Illinois urbana champaign
But they all cost about 50k … my family can only afford about 25k/year.
Do you think I can get some scholarships to cover the difference?
Or can you suggest me some suitable colleges - I found SUNY Albany , Binghamton ; CUNY Baruch; but don’t know if they are respected , because their ranking is kinda low. I don’t know whether to stay in the top uni in my country for 2k/year or to pay 25 for a average uni in USA?
p.s got 98ibt if that matters
thanks

bumppppppp

I’d say you should probably stay home for undergrad and come to the US for grad school when funding would be easier to get if you do well. All of your schools are state schools and while some have a little bit of money for kids not from their state, you are highly unlikely to get $25K/yr from any of them. And remember, most doing undergrad in the states can not stay here to work, so the top school in your country sounds like the way better bet.

can someone chance me for these schools

Since you have a maximum budget, you need to check each university’s website for the estimated Cost of Attendance. Don’t forget to adjust the transportation costs to account for one or two round trips each year between your home country and the university, and add in at least a 5% increase for each year that you will be attending. I expect that non of the places on your list will fit in your budget. For example, I could find a 2010-2011 COA for out-of-state students at SUNY Albany of $27,972. The estimate for 2012-2012 would probably be at least $30,800.

You have a 1330 M+CR SAT and you’re an int’l. That’s a significant problem for scholarships. Most, if not all of those schools, do not give merit scholarships to int’ls. Few publics give int’ls scholarships. Private scholarships from this country are unlikely as well.

For you to get your visa to come here, you’d need to show that you have ALL of your funding in place. Not just for tuition, room and board…**but as an int’l, you have to show funding for tuition, room, board, fees, books, insurance, personal expenses, travel, etc. **

Happy mom is right. Your schools will cost too much money. And…you need to add the cost for international travel. These schools don’t include that in their COAs.

You need to talk to your parents…

I’m gonna retake SAT I in jan , hoping for 1400 (CR+M)
My maximum budget is $30k.
I now know that public uni’s don’t give that much aid to int students , so my chance are probably better at some private + lac.
can you list me some good schools for either business or computer science ( first is preferred)
