. . . in today’s “Pearls Before Swine” (Aug. 10, 2009). Available whenever it’s needed. :)

Before this thread sinks into complete oblivion, I will observe that I actually like the Pastis character “Pig” quite a lot. Any other fans out there? On Pig’s good days, I think he is the “pure fool” or “pure innocent” of the Parsifal myth (really, no joke). I’m also very fond of an earlier Sunday strip in which Pig plays a “trick” by driving up to a fast-food window, paying, and then leaving without the food (singing “Bad boys! Bad boys!”). I’ve done that myself more than once–without the singing, though.

I like this stip, it’s not in our paper and I never think to read anything but xkcd on line.

Our favorite current strip! (Old favorites include Bloom County and Calvin and Hobbes). I think Rat is a real touchstone character, as well. I love Pig with my whole heart and often think of his loving innocence in real life situations!

Me too, and from now on I will retreat into my “Internet Happy Box” when I’ve spent to much time reading CC political threads!

Yet another literary allusion with which I am unfamiliar… I do know “Pooh, a bear of very little brain” and frequently identify.

4-year old thread…

Long story, patsmom. Actually, it was alh who re-activated this thread, based on a comment that I made elsewhere. However, if what I have been reading on CC lately is any indication, Pig’s Happy Box could be really useful about now.

Closing old thread.
