Is there a way for anyone to track what I’m on? I’m not doing anything close to illegal. I just don’t want people to know what I’m on so I wanted to ask before I tried it.

its possible for dnet monitor your traffic. i’d be very surprised if, as your ISP, they didn’t keep traffic logs. your home ISP also likely keeps logs of your traffic. its just how things work, and something you have to get used to. good news is that they don’t care where you go, so watch all the porn you want. you’re fine.

Does UF monitor your downloads? I downloaded a solutions manual out of curiosity and it happened to be for our exact physics book. I never used it and just deleted it off of my computer but I’m worried they may think I am cheating or something? and i NEVER cheat.

if by monitor you mean scan for certain words and then report them to a person, no. also, solution manuals are not really cheating at all. if your professor is collecting homework, then you’re being babied or he’s wasting his time/desperate to give his department’s grad students work to do. people frequently buy solution manuals for upper level classes. the libraries even carry some i think.
just food for thought.

I am just worried that they will see that I downloaded a solutions manual and assume that I am cheating on my homework, which I would NEVER EVER do. Would UF see that I downloaded the manual and assume that I was cheating??

Solution manuals aren’t cheating. They are a freely available resource… our library carries them (I used to use the organic chem one in Marston library all the time). They are out there for your benefit in doing homework. Now, if you just copy the solution verbatim then that’s your problem come test time.

Yea I know tons of other students use solution manuals, but still I am worried. I never even used the manual and deleted it off my computer but still I don’t want to get an F in the course or even suspended/expelled for having a solution manual that I never even used.

this is one of those concerns that you will look back at in 3 years and laugh about.

Anything and everything on the net is traceable dependant upon the amount of energy placed by the inquirer as there is no onion routing program that cant be
hacked. That being said, relax, no need to worry, as the amount of information on the net is unimaginable.
Unless someone is specifically looking at your specific activity, for a specific reason, there is no reason to worry and your porn surfing days are still safe.
Good Luck

I talked to the professor, he said that he doesnt encourage it, but at the same time doesnt discourage it. You won’t get in trouble, but if you copy the solutions manual the punishment will be failing the tests.

I’m relieved :D
