Im looking to do a summer internship abroad this summer. I am looking to do the internship in urban planning, and my choices are: Valencia Spain, Cape Town SA, or Prague Czech Rep. I am a college runner looking to also put in serious training while abroad. I am most interested in a fully immersed cultural experience. I do like to have fun some weekends but not so much heavy partying. Please let me know your opinions and experiences…
Valencia
Pros: Warm weather, great for running (maybe best running cuture?), Spanish immersion, opportunity for homestay, beach, sustainable urban planning
Cons: most expensive, maybe too hot, eating times are weird could upset my stomach running, flat, too western?
Cape Town
Pros: super diverse, lots of urban planning problems to solve, Africa!, best diversity in food in my opinion, mountains and beach, wine, hilly running, cheapest
Cons: southern hemisphere means it will be winter there, crime/dangerous, late sunrise and early sunset due to it being winter, maybe less travel opportunities compared to Europe, no homestay
Prague
Pros: rich culture and history, great places to run, different as far as Europe goes, food, cheap travel, very global population
Cons: language is not useful, food is maybe a bit to heavy, very big party and drinking culture, no homestay
