Internship Scotland

Hiya,

I know some people who are planning to do this programme and just thought I’d see whether anyone here is interested? It’s called Internship Scotland ([International Student Internships | Internship Opportunities Abroad | Global Student Placements](http://www.internshipscotland.com)) and they place you in an internship at the world’s biggest performing arts festival, the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh. Yes, it has a price tag, but that includes your housing and other services, including university credit. It seems neat because it is open to anyone who is at least 18 years old, and you can be studying toward a career in theatre, performance, marketing, communications or business. I haven’t really decided what direction I want to take, so I was thinking this might be a good way to sample them all while also doing study abroad. What do you guys think?

I’ve been looking at it as well. I actually sent in part of the application, but… I’m not sure how to check out if it’s reputable. It sounds almost too good to be true, considering they just waived the fee for applying and cut the price in half…

Anyone know if this is completely legit?

Hi,
I am one of the programme coordinators and I can certainly vouch for the legitimacy of Internship Scotland.
We had to cut the length of the course in half because the academic portion could not be finalised in time for this summer. It did not seem fair to do anything other than cut the price in half since only half of the programme was now being offered.
This is the first year the programme will run so it is difficult to provide testimonials from past participants. However, once you have applied we will match you up with great companies which will hopefully put your mind at rest.
We also won’t request any fees until you are completely satisfied with the type of internship you will get so there is really nothing to lose by applying - hence the reason we waived the application fee for this year.
If you have any questions don’t hesitate to e-mail or call us.
Thanks
Andrew

Where did you guys learn your tight marketing skills? I’m impressed. It’s not obvious at all.

Well I’ve seen multiple places where the date for the application was listed as 1999, so I’m not entirely sure about how that would happen if this is the first year it’s been run.

Plus, the number of stock photos on your website are kind of weird.

I mean, I’d love to hear that it’s reputable, but it’s hard to find real evidence of it.

Other than just claiming it is, do you have any other way of proving that it’s a legitimate outfit?

I agree regarding the stockphotos…

Where did you guys come across this program? Goabroad.com?

Open to any suggestions! except university of dreams…too expensive.

I have two friends who are going to Shanghai this summer but I don’t know yet where I’ll be going.
