Internship

Is it hard to get an internship seeing as the competition is Harvard, MIT, Amherst, BC, Tufts, Wellesley, etc…?

Well Northeastern kind of sets you up with tons of interviews so its kind of your fault if you can not get someone to like you…

What kind of internships?

It depends on the field, but I’ve seen people get pretty impressive co-ops, and since we have the co-op program not many people look for traditional summer or part-time internships. I have business friends who work at various prestigious companies, including Goldman Sachs. In science I have friends at Harvard affiliated hospitals and some of the top pharmaceuticals and biotechs in Boston, etc. Most majors offer pretty cool job opportunities.

Basically, since we’re the only school with students doing co-op, we don’t compete against other schools. If you can get a good co-op, then that experience is going to get you a good job in the future, or a competitive internship if you want one.
