<p>How important is getting an internship before you graduate?
Most of the positions I see open require at least some years of experience.</p>

<p>It is extremely helpful but not mandatory. As long as you have some kind of work experience doing something, you should be OK. Obviously having relevant work experience in your field is the best. Just make sure you don’t sit at home and do nothing every summer.</p>
<p>At the moment, getting CS internships is pretty easy in my area.</p>
