Internships for 5th Graders?

Hi guys, I’m Joey from Des Moines. I’ll be entering middle school next year, but I realize it’s never too early to get something to put on my resume for high school. Just wondering if any banks would have positions available at summer analysts, since they don’t have any employees anymore? My extracurricular activities include Hall Monitor, reading the announcements, line leader, and class suck up. I also carry a 3.9 gold stars GPA. Any hope for me?

Sorry Joey, but 5th grade internships at banks are hard to get. A 4.0 is really the bare minimum. Lower than that, you’re out of luck. But I hear there are way more internship opportunities at banks for 6th graders, so just hold out another year and get that GPA up.

Go ahead and apply to Goldman Sachs.

They are looking for fresh and YOUNG talent.

They give out GPA’s in elementary school? You write pretty well for a 5th grader. Don’t waste our time.

class suck up should definitly get you in an IB internship

not a serious question.

If your parents didn’t sign you up for an chance at an internship position in preschool you are already out of luck.

Make sure to do a lot of networking. You never know whose mom or dad is a banker.

Good one. . .

Eh, I thought it was pretty funny. Brings some good levity.

It was funny.

Funnier thing is that I’ve seen some threads like this on CC that are real.

too bad you were born in 1989

Sax, I miss the good old days when the grandparents would simply have a word with so and so and have you marked down for such and such when your parents were still courting. Glass of sherry? Quite.
