I am currently enrolled in a community college in PA. I’m in my first semester as a freshman and looking to transfer to a four year after I get my associates. I was looking for internships that related to physics, astronomy, and mathematics. I was looking into REU, but most of them (not all) exclude me from eligibility because of my residence status. from a US high school, and have been in the U.S for a while. To be specific I have DACA and that allows me to be employed in the U.S, but I am of course barred from any benefits or internships that require us citizenship or permanent residence.
I have been looking for summer 2019 internships and have only come across a few that have specific eligibility for DACA students, and some that allow international students can apply to. Due to the formalities of the system, I have to mostly seek internships that allow students with international student status to work in the US. I have difficulty finding any possible internships in the US that fit that international / DACA student and are also in my interested field of physics.
I was hoping that someone could guide me in the right direction, or have an internship they know of that would I would be eligible for.
