<p>I’m worried about internships for summer 2011. Are people currently looking? It seems like I know a lot of people who keep talking about how they’re currently applying for these internships, but every time I look for internships I’m interested in, it seems like they’re not even hiring for summer yet. Is this the case for a lot of people? I is worried.</p>

<p>As a freshman, I can attest that it is hard; I’ve been having a difficult time landing interviews despite sending out dozens of resumes. Yes, do start looking. Several industries traditionally do their hiring earlier in the year (ex. some governmental offices), but even if your intended programs aren’t open to applications yet, nothing’s stopping you from exploring your connections, calling, e-mailing and researching. At the very least, you’ll get a clearer idea about what’s out there and what it’ll take to get there.</p>
