I want to intern in a college that I plan to apply to in my senior year; however it costs me $5000. Is it worth interning at this college? Considering that I will have to pay in order to attend.
No. $5000 to pay for an internship as a high school student is ridiculous, and likely wouldn’t help your admissions chances.
Depends. If you’re there for the experience, and 5000$ is not a lot to you, then yeah sure, go for it. It’s probably better than doing nothing, and you’ll have the opportunity to learn new things, meet new people etc.
However, if you’re like most people who don’t have a ton of money, then no don’t do it. Doing the internship will not by itself boost your chances in any way if that is what you were wondering.
What does this mean? What does a “college intern” do?
If you’re paying for an internship, then you’re doing it wrong.
