I heard Penn does 3 types of interviews. For people who are definitely in. For random picks. Or for people who are borderline, and that their interview is the deciding factor for if they get in or not.

I want to ask. is this true?

Also has anyone heard of Robin Briggs? I am receiving an interview from him. Anyone know what type of questions he asks. what type of interview he does?

Thanks

No, that’s not how it is done. The school gives alumni interviewers in each region a list of applicants in that region who are applying. The interviewers only see a list of students with names, addresses, high schools, and emails. Academics/ECs/Test scores are not provided. The alumni interviewers then try to get through as many of the students on their lists as possible. There is no “picking and choosing” who gets interviews based on applicant promise or anything.

I haven’t heart of Robin Briggs… but good luck! I’m sure you’ll do fine. :)

one of the alumni interviewers said that she was only responsible for interviewing students of borderline region, where the interview is an important part.

Where I lived, they invited a bunch of applicants to a certain place at a certain time. Once there, we would meet up with which ever one of the dozen or so alumni that was not doing an interview, and go from there (it was completely random). So I’m positive that’s not true for where I lived, because this was the only interviewing opportunity in my city (a large one at that)
