Interview at MIT

I have been selected for interview for the LFM program at MIT. Any help would be greatly appreciated. What kind of questions are usually asked?

Thanks in advance.

hi,
i am sorry i can’t help you with advice for your interview.

i have a question myself?
when did they send you the e-mail with the invitation for an interview?

i applied myself for the LFM program, but I have really bad chances. I would like to know if I should still hope for an interview?

thanks,
elena

…hey, good luck!!!

Elena,

They keep on inviting people till end of March. So you might still get an interview call. All the best.

Thank you, for your quick reply.
Please, tell me how the interview was when you have a chance.

I don’t think it will happen for me this year.
Plus, I am going back home to my country for 2 months beginning 1st of march so I may miss any chance for an interview.

Everything happens for a reason, right?
Elena

Here comes the dreadful news. I also applied to the LFM program at MIT. I haven’t received any news regarding my application. Oh well.

Hey, the best of luck. Hope you’ll do good.

I think it is still far too early to be concerned.

hi,

how was the interview at mit. any results?

thanks,
elena

I have not got an interview. Does this imply a rejection ? Why dont they just send a rejection letter then ? WHy wait till March 13th before sending the rejection when if you dont get an interview offer, you get rejected anyway.

How did other peoples interview go ?

let’s apply again next year :).

my friends advice me to call mit and ask for an interview?

do you think this is appropriate, because i don’t think it is a good idea. i believe in mit they know better than me who is a good candidate and who is not…yet.

elena

Yeah, its not like a job interview where persistence and perseverence is rewarded. MIT has too many highly qualified applicants already, so its pretty much over once they have made a decision. Unless of course you know somebody on the inside !

Elena, how long did it take to do the LFM application ? 7 essays was just crazy !! Where else did you apply ? Are you from a manufacturing background ?

By the way, are you a US green card holder. Apparently, for LFM they prefer applicants with work authorization since part of the program includes a 6 month internship.

Hi,

I found out about the program in the middle of October and I attended the information session on the 2ed of November. This was the day I decided that I want to apply for the LFM. I went totally crazy. I bought the GMAT book the next day and I scheduled an exam for the 13th of December. So I guess it took me 6 weeks to prepare for the test and to put together an application. The results were a really low GMAT score and lousy application package. I knew the answer right there, but still, I was hoping I will get to an interview. I think I can make a better impression in person than on paper.

I was not born in USA, but I am a green card holder.

I have no manufacturing back ground, but I do have a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management which is very very very close to the LFM curriculum. I would love to have a career in production and I will apply for the LFM until they take me.

I did not apply in any other school. I know what I want. I want the LFM. I just need more than 6 week to take the GMAT and write zillions essays.

Good luck with your application. Let me know if something changes in this connection.

Elena

is there anybody accepted in the LFM program???

did you get your decision letter

Are they going to send decision letters to everybody - even to the people who are not accepted???
